A wooden dormer is carpentered to measure and therefore fits nearly any roof shape and size — including where prefab stops. The detailing matches existing woodwork, and for listed buildings or protected townscapes wood is often the only finish the aesthetics committee accepts.
Expect € 10,000 to € 20,000; large widths or special finishes can run higher. The work takes several days on the roof, and that labour shows in the price.
Exterior woodwork follows the usual painting cycle of 5 to 7 years. Many builders therefore combine: a wooden structure with low-maintenance cladding. Ask for that trade-off in writing in the quote.
